Objectives

    - Understand the different methods for evaluating the economics of health interventions, such as introducing a new vaccine; - Understand how to use a cost-effectiveness analysis (CEA) to measure the costs and benefits of introducing a rotavirus vaccine; - Identify the main drivers of CEA for a rotavirus vaccine; - Conduct a cost analysis for introducing a rotavirus vaccine.

    Description

    An integrated cost-effectiveness model has been developed by the Pan American Health Organization’s ProVac Initiative to help strengthen national capacity to perform and coordinate economic evaluations and costing of the new vaccine introduction; This model has been developed in Microsoft Excel and has a user-friendly interface to help navigate and guide the user through 20 steps, each considered to be fundamental to a cost-effectiveness analysis.
