Objectives

    - Define the terms “pandemic” and “preparedness.”; - Describe how pandemic influenza emerges and spreads; - Describe key steps in developing a local preparedness and response plan; - Describe principles of effective communication during a pandemic; - Identify preparedness and response strategies for specific community sectors; - Identify additional resources to support local preparedness and response efforts.

    Description

    This course will presents information about the pandemic influenza in the community and informations to understand pandemic influenza. Information about the prepare the community for a pandemic resource and how to address the influenza. The FluComm course consists of Core Modules and Audience Specific Toolkits for local leaders and their staff. Learners can choose from Core Modules and Audience Specific Toolkits to create an experience appropriate to their needs, setting, and schedule. Each section of the core modules can be completed in approximately 30 minutes, but does not have to be done in one sitting. This course presents too additional resources as toolkits offer guidance, checklists, handouts, letters, posters, and communication messages that can be adapted by leaders and administrators of each setting. A course for local leaders in the following settings:
    schools, health services, workplaces, municipalities, faith and community Organizations.
