Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis in adults: diagnosis and management
Publication year: 2017
This guideline covers diagnosing and managing idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis in people aged 18 and over. It aims to improve the quality of life for people with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis by helping healthcare professionals to diagnose the condition and provide effective symptom management. NICE has produced a COVID-19 rapid guideline on interstitial lung disease. It recommends changes to usual practice to maximise the safety of patients and protect staff from infection during the COVID-19 pandemic. In May 2017, recommendation 1.5.11 was amended to add a link to the NICE technology appraisal on nintedanib for the treatment of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, and two outdated research recommendations were removed.
