Mental disorders are estimated to account for 12% of the global burden of disease, but only a minority of persons affected receive basic treatment. The present manual attempts to provide simple, adequate and evidence-based information to health care professionals especially in low- and middle-income countries to be able to provide pharmacological treatment to persons with mental disorders.
