INTRODUCTION:

This two and a half day meeting, sponsored by PAHO, with the support of the PAHO / WHO Collaborating Center in Nursing and Midwifery of the University of Michigan, is the continuation of the first summit held at McMaster and is based on the discussions and priorities established during that summit.

OBJECTIVES:

The objectives include: I. Examine the basic competencies of the role of the EPA in PHC in the US, Canada and in International Standards. II. Identify the resources and strategies necessary for universities to prepare resources that play the role of the EPA in PHC in Latin America and the Caribbean. III. Identify the basic curricular development for the education of EPA in Latin America.
